Murray Park School hosted a fantastic Year 6 summer school for one week only on Monday 23rd August – Friday 28th August 2021. The day began at 8:30am, with drop off from 8.00am, and run until 3:00pm each day. Our summer school is a free programme open to all Year 6 students who will be joining our school in September 2021. Each day children received a free breakfast and lunch as well as free snacks and refreshments during the day.

Our summer school programme will allow year 6 students to meet our friendly staff team and get to know their new classmates. This opportunity is an excellent way to ensure a smooth transition from primary school to secondary school which can be a huge step for any child and particularly in the current climate. Students will benefit from getting to know our wonderful school site, experience some of our fantastic facilities and begin to experience life at Murray Park School ahead of September. Our helpful staff team will be here to provide support and answer any questions or worries students may have throughout the summer school programme.

The Murray Park Year 6 summer school programme is a great opportunity for our new year 7 students to have fun, relax with friends and prepare for their exciting journey at secondary school in September. In addition, there are some brilliant prizes to be won during the week including vouchers for a family takeaway evening, money off school uniform and stationary starter packs to name a few.

At Murray Park School we have an exciting, action-packed week planned for our Year 6 students. Your child will experience taster sessions in a range of subjects, treasure hunts, arts and crafts, a giant inflatable assault course and team building activities. We have several outside organisations who will be running events at our summer school including the Derby County Community Trust and Cycle Derby.
