Looking at which 6th Form to study at?

There are many Sixth Forms locally that you can consider, remember you are the customer so make sure you investigate very carefully to find the one that best suits your needs and that you will feel comfortable attending.

You will need to think about: 

  • The courses they offer
  • The methods of assessment- coursework/exam etc
  • The facilities they have to offer
  • The size of the place
  • How you are going to get there

Big Assembly  – Something from National Apprenticeship Week

During NAW we will be streaming a Panel Assembly with Q&A’s on Apprenticeships that can be watched live and on demand.

Look out for posters around school and adverts in local papers for open days and remember most of the local colleges will be available for you to talk to on attend the post 16 evening in school.

Think about your skills and interests…

You will need lots of motivation and be prepared to put in a huge amount of work to succeed at this level. One of the best things you can do is to choose subjects that you expect to enjoy and find interesting, this will help to keep you motivated but be careful you choose carefully if you have a particular career in mind.

Are you considering studying a particular subject at university? Does it have any specific entry requirements? Be aware of the courses and careers that your subject choices could lead to.
