Extra-Curricular Opportunities at Murray Park School

At Murray Park School, we believe that education extends far beyond the classroom. Our vibrant extra-curricular programme offers a wealth of opportunities that enrich the learning experience and help our students become well-rounded, confident individuals.

We are proud to offer a wide range of clubs, activities, and events designed to ignite passions, develop new skills, and encourage students to try something new. From creative arts and sports to STEM, performing arts, and leadership opportunities — there’s something for everyone.

Why Extra-Curricular Matters

Participation in extra-curricular activities is a vital part of our PRIDE curriculum, supporting students’ personal development and helping them grow in confidence, independence, and resilience. These opportunities:

  • Develop character through teamwork, responsibility, and leadership

  • Foster a love of learning by allowing students to explore interests beyond the academic curriculum

  • Support wellbeing through fun, friendship, and community involvement

  • Raise aspirations by opening doors to future pathways and building essential life skills

  • Enhance CVs and college/job applications through meaningful participation

Start-of-Year Club Launch Event

Each academic year begins with a club launch event, where students can explore the full range of activities on offer. This exciting, interactive event — held in the first weeks of term — allows students to meet club leaders, ask questions, and sign up for activities that spark their interest.

We actively encourage every student to join at least one club, helping them to discover new interests and connect with others across year groups.

Celebrating Participation

Students who regularly attend clubs and activities are recognised through:

  • PRIDE reward points

  • Certificates and awards in assemblies

  • Invitations to exclusive enrichment events and trips

  • Features in the school newsletter and on our website

Student Voice & Club Development

We are always looking to grow and adapt our offer. Many of our clubs are created based on student feedback and ideas, giving students a real voice in shaping their school experience.

Our School Parliament plays a key role in this process — gathering suggestions from tutor groups, discussing new club ideas, and working directly with staff to help bring these ideas to life. This ensures our extra-curricular programme reflects the interests and passions of our student community.

If you have a passion or idea for a new club, speak to your School Parliament representative or a member of staff — we want to hear from you!

Get Involved!

Our extra-curricular programme is open to all, and we are proud to be a school where everyone has the opportunity to shine outside of lessons.
